About

Hope & Help is a non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of vulnerable individuals in Dzaleka refugee camp, Malawi. Founded in 2010 by Delor and Jacob Swiney's family, we aim to address the unique challenges faced by children with disabilities, single mothers, and elders in the camp.

Our Story

In 2010, after a chance encounter between Delor and Jacob Swiney's family, Hope & Help was born. Delor, a resilient survivor of conflict and displacement, joined forces with Jacob's family to create an organization that would provide vital resources and support to those most in need in the Dzaleka refugee camp.

Today, Hope & Help has grown into a life-changing force in the community, operating a feeding center, a school, a resource center, and providing care for elders. Our work is driven by the belief that everyone deserves a chance at a better life, regardless of their circumstances.

Our Programs

Feeding Center

We provide a daily meal to 300 children with disabilities, ensuring they receive the nutrition they need to thrive.

School

Our school offers education to children with disabilities from Monday to Friday, giving them opportunities to learn and grow.

Resource Center

We empower single women by teaching them valuable skills like gardening and sewing, which they can use to earn a living. Our resource center also provides microfinance loans, helping these women start their own businesses.

Elder Care

Our organization is dedicated to supporting the elders in the camp, providing care, food, and shelter to ensure they live with dignity and respect.

Your Impact

With external factors such as COVID and hyperinflation worsening the situation for refugees, your support is more crucial than ever. Hope & Help is a lean organization, meaning your donations go directly to those who need it most. Your contributions help us feed more elders, supply feminine products to women in need, and repair homes damaged during the rainy season.

Every dollar counts in our mission to empower and transform lives. Thank you for joining us in making a difference.
